My NEW travelling blog

Hello everyone! I hope that you're all having a wonderful year so far. So sorry that I haven't post much in the last couple of months. Recently, I've been working on switching my travelling blog (smiles and miles away) to this new one: Smiles and Miles Abroad. I will do my best to post on it about my trip more frequently:-) Stay tuned!

Haiti summer 2016

Bonjou tout moun!  Here are some pictures from Haiti that my mother took in the last few days:-) They will be staying there still for another week or so. This morning I received an email from my mom with several prayer requests... I realize that you don't personally know these people, but if it crosses your mind during the day could you please pray for these needs:
  • Ishna and Juliette's mother- She is presently at the hospital with seven children at home.
  • Jaquelin and his family-They live in extremely poor conditions.
  • Joachim-His vision is getting worse, and he can't attend a ''regular'' school anymore.
  • Tititte and her four children-This is the family that we helped to rebuild her home that was destroyed after the earthquake. The mother is not doing very well.

Gospel meeting in the mountain.
Soccer game
School activities
Thank you so much everyone for your prayers! The Lord is compassionate and loving, and He hears every prayers. Haiti is definitely a very populated country with many needs, but I believe that God can change people's lives anywhere.

Bloom where you are planted.

I came across these quotes this week, and I really had on my heart to share it on this blog with all of you. They mean a lot to me. At times, I feel like living the experiences that I had once again, such as travelling to another country. Then I realize that,  the Lord can bring similar ones along in the future, in His time. I'm so thankful that He is in charge of my life. It's so neat that whatever happens in our life is for a reason. God know what's ahead for all of us. That simple thought, brings a smile on my face :-)

"Trips like this aren't vacations. They are so much more. These experiences show you what's possible and challenge you to examine the paths you'll take in the future. "

Day 1

Hey guys, we safely arrived in Haiti:-) The weather is perfect-not too warm nor too windy. It was approximately 28C today. We are presently staying at an hotel for the night before heading to the village tomorrow. If everything goes well we will be in Riviere-Froide in the afternoon. You can check out the video of our first day in Haiti below:
God bless!

Above all (Lyrics)

Above all powers
Above all kings
Above all nature
And all created things
Above all wisdom
And all the ways of man
You were here
Before the world began

Above all kingdoms
Above all thrones
Above all wonders
The world has ever known
Above all wealth
And treasures of the earth
There's no way to measure
What You're worth

(Chorus)
Crucified
Laid behind a stone
You lived to die
Rejected and alone
Like a rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all

Another journey in Haiti

In less than two weeks from today, June the 11th, I will be half across the world once again!  This time, my parents, James and I, we will stay for a longer period of time; sixteen days to be precise:-) I finished school last Friday so I am free from homework for a couple of months!  It feels as if I just arrived not so long ago from Haiti, but it was actually last August! I am planning to post while I am there, so all of you who wants updates, there"s going to be some once in a while :-) We pretty much packed everything already, such as the supplies to do the activities with the kids during the day. We`ll take one day at a time, and see what God has in store for each of them. My prayer is that wherever we'll be, we will be a testimony to those we meet, as well as an encouragement. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated:-)
